Centuries old documents and religious testimonies tell the tale of ages long past where the Three Brothers were not the only gods that breathed life into the world. You see, the Three Brothers, Zasmalza, Bardolf, and Amnitrix, were the human gods worshipped by man and other humanoid races; however, these gods shared control over the world with a different race of God: those who commanded the magical elements of the planet. They were the God Dragons: rulers and commanders over all magical forces.
Dragons were worshipped by the non-humanoid creatures; the living beings whose very existence depended on these mighty tyrants. There was a dragon for every element no matter how major or how minor. They were living obelisks that absorbed this magical energy and recycled it back into the world. These Gods were controlled by one superior being known only as the Great God Dragon. It controlled the very lives of all other dragons and possessed an Endless supply of the elements. This Great God Dragon was considered the single-most powerful presence in existence.
The Three Brothers, jealous of the impact and strength the Dragon Gods possessed, waged an epic war against them. This battle practically tore the entire planet apart and sent terrible waves of destruction through the world for almost a century until finally, the Three Brothers were able to confront the Great God Dragon itself. What started out as a terrible battle, boiled down to a diplomatic conversation. This war would surely bring total destruction to the world were it to continue, and two of the Three Brothers agreed with the dragon. The youngest brother; still embittered and jealous, attempted a cheap tactic to strike down the Great God in one swift maneuver.
The planet rocked with imbalance as the mighty beast was destroyed; however, it was able to summon its last ounces of power to create a beautiful jewel known as the Dragon’s Tear. This jewel was said to contain the complete and total essence of the Great God Dragon. Again, the younger of the Three Brothers intended to wipe the powerful God from the face of existence and attempted to shatter the jewel, but only served to split it in half.
These two halves plummeted to the world below and were lost to time: thought never to be seen again.
So ended the reign of the Great God Dragon.
